Uncertainty has in the past week overshadowed the condition of Jamaican-America rapper and singer Sean Kingston following his watercraft Jet Ski crash last Sunday. The rapper is not new to Zimbabwe after he performed twice in April. “Sean Kingston’s condition has been improving every day since news of his horrific Memorial Day weekend and has regained consciousness after his Jet Ski crashed last Sunday. “Although Kingston can’t speak because of a breathing tube in his mouth and throat, the singer is now awake, alert and communicating with his many visitors through head nods and hand gestures.” “He still needs a machine to help him with his breathing, but he has reportedly opened his eyes and is communicating and recovering,” reads a statement on the singer’s official website. As previously reported, the singer was rushed to a Miami hospital last weekend and the crash was so bad that Kingston was reportedly treated in the trauma ward initially before being transferred to ICU. According to the website, Kingston was accompanied by long-time friend Cassandra Sanchez at the time of the accident. In the days after the incident Sanchez, who escaped the accident with minor injuries, shed light on what happened. She said that she spotted the low clearance of the bridge and called out to warn Kingston, who was navigating, “We can’t fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!” The next thing the 23-year-old woman remembers is waking up in the water. Sanchez woke up in pain but Kingston was much worse: “Sean was coughing up blood, foam and pink stuff.” According to Kingston’s website the Beautiful Girls hit maker is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries in the next six weeks.” “Kingston is making progress every day, but it will be at least two weeks till he may be well enough to go home and a total of six weeks to recover,” states the website. — Staff Reporter. |
